About the program

CREASIDENCE PIPELINE WORKSHOP is a multi-part creative experience where participants collaborate across character design, storytelling through comics, and board game mechanics, all centered around the one theme and one goal: releasing a unified, multi-format creative product.

Connect & Learn
Get to know the Creasidence Team and one another, form small creative squads, and carve out your contribution to the shared world-building — the characters, setting, and core idea that will anchor both the comic and the board-game concept.
Create with constraints and within the context
Build on what other teams invent and guide your ideas through multiple mediums: refine your monster’s look on paper, turn its story beats into comic panels, then translate its abilities into cards, icons, and guidebook snippets for the game prototype.
Get Feedback & Expand
Share drafts with mentors and peers, run rapid play-tests, and iterate. Feedback always ties back to the end product — how will that panel read on paper, how will that power feel at the table, how can the lore stay consistent across every format?
Release
Watch everything come together: your comic, card art, and game ideas merge into one polished creative product — a tabletop-game concept packaged with merch visuals, comic zine storytelling, and a guidebook. Everything debuts 14 – 15 June at SOMSOC Gallery, with a simultaneous digital drop on Metalabel.

Workshop Theme: DESTROY ALL MONSTERS!
Both workshops have the same theme and Lead Curator — Kazumitsu Akamatsu-sensei, who will have his show Destroy all Monsters in SOMSOC Gallery. Participants of the Pipeline Workshop will create their own 1) Kaiju 2) Comics 3) Game Concept — and everything will be inspired by Akamatsu-sensei’s years of work. Pipeline Workshop is created to prove that it’s possible to create a viable creative product in collaborative and short-term educational form.

Q&A

You can apply for Part 1 — Character Design & Comics or Part 2 — Game Design separately (25 000 JPY each), or grab the full Pipeline Workshop bundle for 40 000 JPY. Alumni of our past events receive an extra discount. Fill out the application form to secure your spot!
Each session builds on the previous one, so full attendance for the part you choose is strongly recommended.
  • Between sessions we’ll collaborate in our private Discord — refining materials, tracking progress, and sharing feedback — so your comics characters flow seamlessly into the game-design phase.
  • The finished project will debut 14 – 15 June at SOMSOC Gallery, where participants will present their work to friends and creative-industry guests. A digital edition will follow on Metalabel.
