ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Bring monstrous ecosystems to life through illustration in this intensive 2-day weekend workshop. We’ll take existing kaiju designs and insert them into familiar landscapes by bringing the magic of kaiju into your everyday world and surroundings.

Under the guidance of an industry mentor, you’ll practice essential world building and illustration techniques for environmental storytelling, learn how to create depth and scale that make your kaiju world feel real. By Sunday, you’ll have completed a polished postcard illustration showcasing your kaiju’s unique environment—perfect for your portfolio and our collaborative Metalabel release.

This workshop is designed for both seasoned creators and those exploring illustration, design, and environmental storytelling for the first time. We provide guidance, mentorship, and a supportive collaborative space where artists can learn, experiment, and create together.

RELEASES

Every Creasidence program ends with a collaborative release — a zine, mixtape, performance, or game concept — created and published by the participants. We release these works on Metalabel, making them accessible to everyone. Artists keep full credit, and all proceeds go directly to them. Our goal is not only to create together — but to share it with the world, right away.
