ABOUT THE RESIDENCY
Have an idea for a story but don’t know how to turn it into manga?
The Creasidence Manga Workshop is a 4-day program dedicated to transforming story seeds into finished one-page manga.
Over the course of four days, participants will develop their ideas through guided exercises, collaborative work, and mentor feedback. Guided by professional mentors in Tokyo, you will explore the fundamentals of visual storytelling while learning how to structure and communicate a narrative through manga.
Working alongside fellow creators, you will experiment with storytelling techniques such as concept development, page flow, paneling, and simple toning — all while developing your own short manga piece.
By the end of the residency, each participant will complete a one-page manga and all works will be compiled together into a collaborative zine showcasing the creations of the cohort.
